 Configuring NewsBin for Newsguy

If you are adding Newsguy to an existing NewsBin setup, you can use the Add News Server button on the main toolbar to start the same process.

2. The next step you choose Next can accept the defaults. The Newsguy newsgroup list can be retrieved later from the main toolbar using the Edit Subscribed Groups button.

3. A confirmation screen would appear next and can click Finish to conclude that process.

4. From the main program widow, click the Edit Subscribed Groups button on the toolbar. This will launch the Add Group Dialog box that would be used to retrieve the newsgroups list form Newsguy and establish your subscribed list.

Tip# 1: If you need to configure Newsguy's alternate NNTP Port#, or adjust the number of connections, those can both be done in NewsBin's server properties area.

That can be accessed by selecting the Servers tab in the main program window, then highlighting your Newsguy configuration. Next right-click with your mouse and choose the Properties... option from the popup menu. This will open the Server Properties dialog box.

The Port number can be adjusted from the Basic tab. Newsguy's default Port# is 119 and the alternate Port# is 8080

From the Advanced tab, the Max Server Connections can be adjusted. Newsguy supports up to 32 concurrent connections.
